View RecordsIdentify the right Cherokee County before searching criminal cases, with Georgia and North Carolina court routes and limits on docket results.
Cherokee County is a shared county name. The routes below cover Georgia and North Carolina; neither is a universal Cherokee County search. The court heading on a citation, summons or prior order identifies which route applies. If that heading names another state, use its court rather than substituting one of these examples.
Clerk of Courts docket search accepts case number, party name or CSE number. Expand the plus sign beside a case to see its docket. The Clerk describes this as case-posture information, not the complete current file.
County judiciary page identifies the local court. State court-record guidance separates Portal case information from the county-clerk background-check service. Paper case files are accessed in the county holding the case.
Start with the number from the court document; otherwise use the party name. Expand a candidate docket before deciding whether it is the prosecution you need.
A charge listing does not establish its final disposition. Note the title and date of the order or filing that answers your question.
The Georgia Clerk directs users to its office for authenticity and warns that sensitive pleadings can be hidden online. Use the case reference to ask for the specific filing, ordinary copy or certified copy.
If a case is visible but a pleading is hidden, ask the holding clerk whether you may inspect or obtain that document and what access conditions apply. A missing online image does not establish that the charge was dismissed or that the paper file is empty. Source scope checked September 29, 2026.
